Xinarca concert, Corsican singing

Come and discover Xinarca and its repertoire of traditional Corsican songs.

Xinarca performs a repertoire centred on traditional Corsican monodic singing: sacred songs and songs from the mountain singing tradition (ancient songs and original compositions).



He accompanies himself on a rare 16-string instrument, the ‘Cètera d’Oletta’. It is the only period Corsican cister (230 years old) still played today.



This ancient 16-string Corsican cister had all but disappeared by the early 20th century, along with its repertoire.
The last man to play it passed away in 1934, and with him was lost this oral tradition, of which no recording has preserved the memory.



The box office opens on the day of the concert, one hour before the performance.
