Theatre play 'Les courants d'arrachement'

As part of the launch of the Var Readers’ Prize, a performance of the play based on the book of the same title, staged by the Douce theatre company.

Casablanca, 1955. At low tide, Reine is lying on the ‘Rock of the Condemned’. That morning, after settling her daughter Rose on the sand, she made her way to this rocky islet where, six years earlier, she used to spend hours, hidden from view, in the arms of Jean, her lover. The viewer is drawn into an intimate saga, an epic in which the radiant yet desperate heroine must, in the end, choose her own destiny. Based on the novel by Élise Lépine.
