"To Be or Not to Be"—this could be the story of a little boy who dreamed of becoming a soccer player and who discovered Molière and Shakespeare.
"To Be or Not to Be"—this could be the story of a little boy who dreamed of becoming a soccer player and who discovered Molière and Shakespeare. Or it could be the story of a little boy with a famous father, trying to make his way in the world of theater. Or perhaps it’s a revelation of feelings and memories, a tribute to loved ones, and a homage to those who have passed away but remain ever-present in the heart.
From Red Star and its Bauer Stadium to the Théâtre du Chêne Noir in Avignon, from the Théâtre du Jour in Agen to the legendary Parc des Princes, William Mesguich has always juggled with Maradona while passing the ball to Beckett and Marivaux. And then, he met another William. “To be or not to be” is the discovery of all the others within ourselves, a symphony of tenderness for those who believe in the wildest dreams.
