Stanislas Nordey adapts Christine Angot’s novel into a powerful stage production. He brings to life the author’s incisive language as she reflects on the incest she endured as a teenager.
Rewriting, revisiting, recalling actions and words. Through her literary craft, Christine Angot returns to the scene of the crime. Her meticulous retrospective recounts the rape she endured at the age of fourteen. In a hybrid format combining video, projected texts, and music, Stanislas Nordey reveals the full richness of the writing in this work, winner of the 2021 Prix Médicis. The facts, the reflections, the violence, the words she intended for her diary: everything is interwoven. Far from a mere factual account, this text sheds light on the various perspectives she has grappled with and the struggle she has waged.
