Theater - "A Dinner for One"

A set table, five place settings, candles, wine… and a strange sense of absence surrounding Miss Sophie. Except that tonight, it’s James, her butler, who’ll have to handle everything: serving, toasting, answering questions, drinking… and staying on his feet.

Inspired by the famous British sketch *Dinner for One*, *Un dîner pour 1* presents a delightfully offbeat, open-air, closed-door performance. In this one-on-one encounter between a dignified elderly lady and an increasingly unsteady butler, the humor arises from ritual, repetition, and the unexpected. Danielle Le Pierrès and Christophe Lelarge revel in the reversed roles, the solitudes that brush against one another, and that English politeness that withstands everything—even drunkenness. A little gem of burlesque—tender and precise—where each toast brings the dinner a little closer to chaos.
