Presentation
Circus performance presented by the "Collectif Sismique" troupe (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes)
Duration: 1 hour
Ages 8 and up
Under the big top, a flame is lit and the world slows down. Blending clowning, circus, and pyrotechnics, IGNIS offers a large-scale sensory experience where fire becomes a playmate, a living element, and a source of wonder.
Alone in the ring, Nicolas Fraiseau tames the fire through a succession of delicate, clumsy, and poetic gestures. A match, an ember, a lantern, or a few sparks are enough to bring an entire world of imagination to life. The clown observes, tries, fails, and tries again in a hypnotic dialogue with this indomitable element.
Conceived as a contemporary ceremony under the big top, the show evokes both our most ancient imaginations and the anxieties of our time.
Fire becomes, in turn, a refuge, a threat, a rebellion, or a space for encounter. Between collective warmth and the chaos of the world, IGNIS explores our fascination with this element, which is as vital as it is destructive. Presented by the Sismique collective, this 2025 production creates an experience where circus, light, and sound interact in a hypnotic and deeply organic atmosphere.
“Deeply poetic, this show moves the audience beyond what words can express. You literally feel yourself melting into it.” Le Point
