Presentation

These paintings bring together 3 major currents of contemporary painting:
- the school of Toulon with Mange, Tamari, Latapie, Verdilhan, Eisenschitz, ...
- the school of Paris with Segal, Blond, Mintchine, Dobrinsky, Marchand, Van Dogen, Dufy, Moualla, ...
- the school of Bourges with Thibaudet, Brigand, Gueldry,

All the paintings come from the private collection of Mr Bassano, a remarkable patron of the arts who, banned under the Mussolini regime and exiled in France, donated them to the village of Aups, in gratitude for the welcome he received.
