Perched on a jutting tuff rock, Seillons is set overlooking Argens plain. The original village is situated at the foot of the ancient Grimaldi castle. At the time, houses were built into the rock face itself, as witnessed by the many still-visible cavities, formerly used as vats, bread ovens, tanks, etc.
With its checkerboard of terraced farmland, old streets where cellars and store rooms were dug into the tuff rock, ruined castle and ancient seigneurial dovecot, Seillans resembles a typical Provencal nativity scene.
