Screening of the debut animated film “Les Survivants du Che” by Saint-Tropez-based director Christophe Réveille

After Che Guevara's death in Bolivia in 1967, six guerrilla fighters escaped the army and embarked on a 2,400-kilometer flight. Sixty years later, their accounts shed light on this little-known episode of the Cold War.

“Les Survivants du Che,” the first animated documentary film by Saint-Tropez-based director Christophe Réveille, recounts the escape of the six guerrillas following Che Guevara’s death in Bolivia in 1967. Featuring the voice of Vincent Lindon.

The first documentary by Saint-Tropez-based director Christophe Dimitri Réveille, “The Survivors of Che ” tells the story of six guerrillas who, after Che Guevara’s final battle in Bolivia and his execution in 1967, managed to escape the Bolivian army and make their way to Cuba after a 2,400-kilometer flight.

For decades, their story remained largely unknown. The director devoted 22 years to this investigation—involving travel, research, and interviews—until he tracked down all the remaining survivors and gathered their testimonies.

Combining interviews, rare and previously unseen archival footage, and animated sequences, the film traces their journey, their escape, and the geopolitical context of the Cold War.
The documentary was presented in the Official Selection—Special Screening at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and has now been released in theaters across France.

The screening in Saint-Tropez will be followed by a Q&A with Christophe Dimitri Réveille, giving the audience the opportunity to speak with the director about the film’s origins, his investigative work, and the artistic choices that went into making this documentary.
