Saint-Pierre, Sensitive Natural Area

On the border of the Var and the Alpes de Haute-Provence, the Sensitive Natural Area Saint-Pierre at Le Bourguet is remarkable because of the contrast between different environments. A wooded area is next to scrublands crossed by small gorges and a stream. While walking there, visitors also discover a vast agricultural plain with an old sheepfold but also in the heart, meadows and a marsh of major ecological interest. A sedimentary series that shelters ammonite fauna is also observable for fossil lovers. This mosaic of environments creates a landscape and ecological diversity.
