In 1882, Godillot commissioned Pierre Chapoulart to build his own house. In fact, it involved the redevelopment of two existing villas and their transformation into a vast private mansion comprising the first floor with the outbuildings, the second floor with the grand salon, winter garden, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms, and the second floor with another apartment and billiard room, with a workshop in the attic.
The originality of Chapoulart's work lies in the exterior, as the main façade is a picturesque eclectic mix of different architectural styles: classical, Norman, Moorish...
All these seemingly disparate elements are nevertheless unified in a certain harmony of composition. The façade, with its perspective on the avenue, perhaps reflects the client's taste for festive architecture.
Privately owned, the villa is not open to the public.
