Presentation

In the North of the street, there was in the XVIII century an oil mill which belongs in 1791 to François Mourre a master in surgery. The mill was called " Moulin de la rate".
The origin of the name still uncertain :
- the sign of the mill could representative a rat, a mouse or a bat ?
- The nickname of the owner was "Rato penate" which means in provencal a devout person
- Or it was name like that because of the job of the owner who was a surgeon.
