Rotary Club conference with Cécile Poujol

The Rotary Club of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer is pleased to invite you to an exceptional public lecture on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Frégate Provence Hotel, in the presence of Cécile Poujol, solo sailor and sailor in solidarity.

At 46, Cécile embodies the rare combination of sporting performance and human commitment. A professional skipper, she has taken part in such legendary races as the Route du Rhum, the Transat Jacques Vabre and the Transat Québec-Saint-Malo. Her first major adventure, the Mini Transat - a solo Atlantic crossing on a 6.50-meter sailboat, with no contact with land - marked the start of an extraordinary career. But a solo race is never won alone.

Behind each project: years of physical and mental preparation, the construction of a prototype boat, the search for partners, team management, and above all, a vision. This vision led her to set up the Fifrelin Association, which has been involved for over twenty years in educational and social initiatives for young people, jobseekers, women undergoing reconstruction and other vulnerable groups. Her "Women at the helm" program supports women who wish to take the helm of their own lives.

At the same time, Cécile has been a volunteer patron with the Sauveteurs en Mer de La Ciotat for over 15 years, embodying the values of solidarity and responsibility on a daily basis.

Through her testimony, she will share much more than just her sporting career: a profound reflection on leadership, risk management, resilience, social commitment and the ability to transform a dream into a concrete project. Values of commitment, responsibility and solidarity that resonate fully with those espoused by Rotary.
