Discover 17 paintings by Héliodore Pisan, celebrating the great French engraver and painter (1822-1890), an emblematic figure linked to Cogolin by his family origins.
Recognized as one of the greatest wood engravers of the 19th century and Gustave Doré's main collaborator for the Bible, Don Quichotte and L'Enfer, Pisan exhibited at the Salon de peinture et de sculpture from 1849. Awarded the Légion d'honneur in 1883, he left a number of watercolors preserved at the Château.
The exhibition also features a collection of roosters, the historic symbol of Cogolin, donated to the town by various donors.
