Imagine yourself on the legendary Route des Crêtes. On your right, vineyards as far as the eye can see. On your left, the Mediterranean and the Calanques National Park. At the end of the road: the discovery of the oldest appellation in France, the Cassis AOC. With this route, we make a small infidelity to our beloved Bandol AOC. It's only a small one, because it's only a very short adventure with the Bouches-du-Rhône terroir that we're proposing before heading straight back to the Var and its Bandol estates. But I promise you, the scenery and the magic of some of these places are well worth it!
Practical information:
> 10am: Departure from Bandol
Following your reservation, a meeting point in Bandol will be arranged with Clémence, your guide. There are two options: you can be picked up at your home or we can meet at the station car park if you are arriving by train. On request, we can meet you in one of the neighbouring towns (Sanary-sur-mer, Saint-Cyr-sur-mer, La Cadière d'Azur, Le Beausset, Le Castellet), but this will incur an extra charge. Afterwards, we'll head for Cassis via the Route des Crêtes to admire the vines by the sea (I promise, you'll be able to see them!).
> 11am: Visit to an AOC Cassis estate
The Cassis AOC covers 210 hectares in the commune of Cassis, between the famous Parc National des Calanques and Cap Canaille. Its winemakers are renowned throughout the region as the best producers of white wines. And that's just the beginning! As if winning the hearts and taste buds of southerners wasn't enough, the Cassis terroir is also known as the oldest appellation in France. It's easy to see why a visit to one of these estates was a must!
> 12:30: We're hungry, hungry, hungry!
The beauty of the scenery is a real eye-opener! There are 3 options for eating out:
1. An intimate picnic in the vineyards. Needless to say, we know the best spots! On the menu: delicious local seasonal produce (extra charge).
2. Enjoy some free time in one of the wonderful villages of Le Castellet and La Cadière d'Azur. An opportunity to do a bit of shopping. Be careful, though: we're counting on you to be on time for the rest of the tour and not to let yourself be bewitched by the superb views over the olive groves!
3. Treat yourself at the farm inn on the Bandol La Font des Pères AOC estate. Here, the chef prepares seasonal dishes using produce from their kitchen garden, with love, delicacy and creativity. (extra charge)

Visit an AOC Bandol estate
This is it: it's time to discover the inimitable Bandol wines! What better way to understand their specific characteristics than to ask all your questions to the people who make them? OenoTour Bandol can organise a meeting for you with a winemaker selected according to your preferences. The programme includes a tour of the vineyards, a private visit to the cellar and a tasting of the estate's wines. The promise of a convivial and authentic moment of sharing!
> 4pm:
Tasting at a second Bandol AOC estate
Although the appellation's specifications are strict, each winemaker manages to put his or her own little touch in the bottle. That's why a tasting is essential if you are to appreciate the wines of the AOC to the full. Spoiler alert: this second visit is usually the place where visitors fall over themselves. Note that we cannot be held responsible for any calls from your banker!
> 5.30pm:
Sunset on one of the most beautiful spots in the Bandol AOC
The moment when the magic of the course really comes into its own. To round off this unforgettable day, your guide will take you to an unusual spot steeped in history. Perched at an altitude of over 400 m, you'll overlook an amphitheatre of vines and watch the sun set into the sea... Magic, we tell you!
> 18h30: Return to Bandol
All good things must come to an end... And yes, we do have to get you home after all! So we'll be heading back to our beloved town of Bandol, once again via a road lined with vineyards. At OenoTour, we're into wine tourism right to the end!
