Music - It's Always Ringing Inside Me - Lo Guénin

In each of his works, Lo Guénin creates poetic and immersive worlds. Following "Walden" and "A web, a limb, a wire," the composer has crafted a musical fable that explores the transition from childhood to adolescence.

Lo Guénin traces the thread of his memories: as a middle school student, already passionate about sound, he was forced to set aside some of his vulnerabilities to find his place. Faced with the judgmental stares of others, he chose to take refuge in music.

In this piece, the artist explores his innermost self—his emotions, his flaws, and his differences. Beyond the autobiographical audio narrative, he examines the construction of self within the world of others and the poetry of childhood as it confronts the “middle school years.” On stage, he is accompanied by a grand piano, analog keyboards, and percussion. The staging, directed by Céleste Germe of the Das Plateau company, reveals the essence of the performance and amplifies the power of its message tenfold.
