Les Productions Entropiques present “Tu connais la chanson ?”
“A poetic and musical stand-up show that explores French chanson”
How about we play “Who Wrote This Song”? And for once, let’s start with the lyrics?
Because, after all, French song is a language. Trenet hangs out with the Surrealists; Gainsbourg spits out verses by Verlaine. Maybe that’s what defines French song—the language. What if we played a game of breaking the rules? What if we stopped feeling ashamed of not knowing
and instead took pride in discovering things for the first time, in deconstructing general knowledge, and realizing that it’s always subjective. Perhaps our taste is the result of our upbringing, or our social class, but after all, “you don’t choose your family, nor do you choose the sidewalks of Manila, Paris, or Algiers, to learn how to walk.”
So why not play a game of listening?
“Where does a song come from?” After a theatrical entrance, Louis Caratini answers this question with a show full of sharp humor in the form of a blind test… But that’s not all. Great entertainment. Télérama TT
Alternating between humor, poetry, and emotional moments, the artist pulls off his act brilliantly, cleverly engaging the audience. We’re left wanting more. Le Parisien
