Presentation

Housed in a former school, the museum is a repository of utilitarian objects relating to school life in past centuries, and features a reconstruction of a country classroom from the 1900s.
Guided tours are organised for groups of adults as well as for schoolchildren, with pen-and-ink workshops and old-fashioned dictations on request.
Audioguides are available free of charge for a detailed and independent visit (disinfected before each use).
Host portrait
Since August 2022, the Musée de l'Ecole Publique has been redesigning its collections to highlight the educational models and objectives of the Third French Republic. New panels have been added to help visitors better understand the history of the museum and its educational system through the centuries.
