A magical ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s sparkling music, *Swan Lake* was first staged in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and later restaged by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Nearly a century later, in 1984, Rudolf Nureyev presented his own interpretation of the ballet at the Paris National Opera.
