It all started with a photo that went round the world. Elizabeth Eckford, alone, pursued by a racist horde.
Promised a forced marriage at the age of 18, she falls in love with a mysterious lover who is secretly courting her. It is none other than Count Almaviva who, with the help of his former valet, the mischievous Barber Figaro, will attempt to rescue her...
Compagnie des Modits brings us a twirling version of The Barber of Seville in which the characters are by turns passionate, in love, mad, neurotic, scared and blinded. In homage to Rossini, the play is punctuated by musical passages.
All stratagems are used to free a captive from her tyrant.
