Guided tour of the Provence Landings

Guided tour of D-Day: - Background. - Preparation for D-Day. - Explanation of an amphibious operation. - Identification of the troops who landed at the site of the visit and throughout the bay. - Review and conclusion.

The visit will essentially consist of a stroll along the beach.
Here is the programme:
1/ The historical and strategic context of the Provence Landings.
2/ Preparations for the landings (attack plan and forces involved).
3/ Explanation of how an amphibious operation works (preparation, clearing and securing the combat zone, landing forces and logistics, etc.).
4/ Identification of the troops landed at the site of the visit and throughout the bay (US on 15/08 and French on 16/08).
5/ Assessment and conclusion.
