Presentation

In a small romantic castle, you are invited to visit an exceptional exhibition dedicated to Edouard Goerg, a French expressionist painter of the 20th century. Oils on canvas, ink drawings with pen, Etchings on paper reveal his art.
Soyez les bienvenus à l'Espace Goerg, abrité dans l'écrin d'un petit castel romantique orné d'élégantes tourelles, bâti à la fin du 19-ème siècle.

Ce castel romantique acquit par le peintre et graveur expressionniste français Edouard Goerg, fut sa demeure de 1957 jusqu'à son décès en 1969.

Edouard Goerg, (Sydney, Australie, 9 juin 1893 - Callian, 13 avril 1969)
est un peintre expressionniste Français des plus singuliers du XXème siècle.
Illustrateur très connu des bibliophiles, Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur,
Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres, il s'installe en 1957 au Pradon Sainte Rose à Callian.

Dans ce petit castel romantique, l'artiste poursuit son oeuvre au lyrisme violent et illumine ses peinture de bouquets aux couleurs intenses tels des feux d'artifices.
Il est élu à l'Académie des beaux-arts en 1965.
L'Espace Goerg dévoile son art, épris de fantasmagories
et du théâtre de sa vie.

L'exposition consacrée à Edouard Goerg est le projet culturel de M. Jacques Bérenger, adjoint à la Culture de Callian, et Mme Nelly Maillard Guignon, Présidente de l'association de sauvegarde et de préservation du patrimoine calliannais", Callian au Fil du Temps", avec le soutien actif de la Municipalité.
" L'oeuvre d'Edouard Goerg revient en sa demeure retracer la période calliannaise de l'artiste peintre".

Dans l'espace Edouard Goerg,
un bureau d'information touristique, une boutique de terroir, un rayon librairie sont disponibles sur place.
