Exhibition: “Lines and colors” by Colette Gas

For over 30 years, COLETTE GAS alias “GASC” has been painting and exhibiting alone or in groups (Avignon, Carpentras, Crillon le Brave, Lyon, Tavel, Beaumes de Venise).

She tends to break away from the merely figurative, often working on the edge of abstraction. She likes geometric shapes (roofs, skyscrapers), paint drips that often give a more or less regular checkerboard pattern, and unstructured objects (still lifes). But above all, it's the pleasure of painting, of spreading warm, knife-worked colors one on top of the other.
