The Light of Ink
For over 20 years, Sophie Le Norcy's practice of Indian ink on rice paper has guided her approach to nature, made up of traces, flashes of light, dream images and memories metamorphosed into subtle colors.
Brushes transcribe the mark of a bark, the rocks of a Breton shore, the depths of seas rich in secrets; they let themselves be guided by the impetus, the breath of ink and its journey through the fibers of paper. In some of her works, apparent abstraction is a source of exchange and sharing, the gaze of the other is vital, and the emotion aroused is primordial and lasting, in the light of ink and color. Sophie Le Norcy finds inspiration in Asian art and contemporary painting.
