The European Heritage Days take place on September 19 and 20, 2026 in Provence Méditerranée: free visits, exceptionally open sites and events to discover the region's treasures.
The European Heritage Days return to Provence Méditerranée on September 19 and 20, 2026, offering the public a unique opportunity to discover the cultural, historical and architectural wealth of the region. Throughout the weekend, many sites open their doors, often free of charge, to share their history and secrets.
Emblematic monuments, museums, unusual sites, religious edifices or even buildings usually closed to the public are revealed through a wide-ranging program of guided tours, exhibitions, workshops and events for all ages. From Toulon to Six-Fours-les-Plages, via La Seyne-sur-Mer, Ollioules and Le Revest-les-Eaux, every commune in Provence Méditerranée is taking part in this major European event.
These days are an ideal opportunity to (re)discover local heritage in all its forms: maritime, military, industrial and natural. They also highlight the skills, traditions and people who help preserve and promote this living heritage.
Accessible to all, the European Heritage Days attract a wide audience every year, whether they're curious, history buffs or simply looking for a cultural outing. It's a not-to-be-missed opportunity to explore Provence Méditerranée in a different way and take a fresh look at the region.
