Chalucet multimedia library

It is surrounded by the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design, the École Supérieure Internationale de Commerce Kedge Business School, the École de Design Camondo, a digital business incubator, services and administrative offices for the Conseil Départemental du Var and housing. Finally, it opens onto the Alexandre 1er garden, which has been restored to its historical and botanical glory.

The Chalucet multimedia library is located in and around heritage buildings. A new building, mirroring the preserved wing of the former Hôtel-Dieu, is built in keeping with the original architectural composition and massing. The former chapel returns to its central position in the overall composition, which is also marked by the avenue of the Alexandre 1er garden on the same axis.

The collections and services are housed on 4800 m² and 3 floors.

Books, comics, magazines, CDs and DVDs are available for all publics to borrow. Other spaces complete the offer: a Cinerama for watching films, a self-study room equipped with 12 computer workstations, a newsroom for reading the press, a board games room and a room dedicated to video games.

Scattered throughout the building, computers invite you to consult the catalog or the media library website, or to connect to the Internet.

Armchairs, chairs and tables are available for on-site consultation or work.

Cultural programming is developed for the entire network of media libraries. Occasional or regular events take place in various areas of the Chalucet multimedia library: story bubble, cultural café, Cinerama, self-study room, auditorium, garden, chapel...
