Presentation
Created on September 21, 1882, the Cercle Républicain du 21 septembre
was jointly financed by ceramists' unions and industrialists.
It owes its name to September 21, 1792, the day after the victory of Valmy, when the 1st Republic was proclaimed.
It was founded in 1882 by authorization from the prefectural administration.
It was the headquarters of the ceramics union and the mutual aid society until January 1, 1911, when the labor exchange was created.
Its superb ceramics, frescoes, tiles and arabesques bear witness to the town's prestigious industrial past.
Now home to the association of the same name, it hosts numerous events.
