Aups, the capital of the Haut-Var region, is situated close to Lake Sainte-Croix and the Gorges du Verdon, and is sure to charm you with its many facets. You can relax, stroll, enjoy leisure activities, take part in festivities and discover new things in the shade of the plane trees...
Part of the Verdon Regional Nature Park, the village lies at the foot of the Espiguières mountain, in a verdant setting of pine, oak and olive trees.
From its past, this "Village de Caractère" has preserved the remains of fortifications, picturesque old streets dotted with wash-houses, fountains, sundials and a superb collegiate church.
Situated at the entrance to the Haut-Var Verdon region and its truffle fields, Aups is the black truffle capital of the Var. Every Thursday in winter, the truffle market is held in the village square.
